Sunshine
When I was little, I read a children’s book titled Sunflower Sal. Sal was a pioneer girl who was big and awkward and couldn’t quilt because she would mess up the stitches. This made her sad, so she would take long walks though the countryside and plant sunflowers along the sides of the roads as she went. One day in late summer, she climbed a hill overlooking the neighborhood and realized that she could in fact quilt. She had created a quilt with her sunflowers that was as big and as beautiful as she! Being different is okay and being unique is beautiful.
