England's Rose
The inspiration for this piece happened over months. First, it was the golden swipes done early in the spring. I loved how they would catch the sun in the afternoons, glinting softly in the light. The piece sat alone for weeks was I contemplated color combinations. They were all either too saturated and the delicate gold was lost, or the flowers too little and the piece looked chaotic. Finally, one late spring evening I created roses larger than I had ever made before. Petal after delicate petal was formed and my hand began to ache, but the result was so worth it. Finally, I had the centerpiece flowers for the bouquet! After another month or two of enjoying the piece, I knew something was missing and asked my wonderful Instagram followers if greenery should be added. It was a resounding “yes!”, and thus England’s Rose was finally complete.
8”x8” sculpted acrylic on gallery wrapped canvas. Mounted with a sawtooth hanger and ready to be hung on your wall!
